Child Protection
Conference
Who Else will be Invited?
The meeting is chaired by a Child Protection
Co-ordinator, from Leeds Department of
Social Services, on behalf of the Area
Child Protection Committee. He or she
will not have had any involvement with
the case before the Conference, and will
meet with you immediately before the meeting
starts to answer any questions you may
have.
Other people invited are either those
who have been involved in any recent enquiries
- for instance social worker, police officer
or doctor - and other people who have
known your children or family in the past
- for instance health visitor, school
nurse, GP, school teacher, probation officer,
social worker, etc. Others with a special
role may also be present, for instance
an interpreter, where necessary, a minute
taker, who takes notes of the meeting,
or the manager of a worker involved in
the case.
