Child Protection
Conference
What will be Discussed?
Normally, the recent events that led
to the decision to hold a Child Protection
Conference will be discussed first. All
the people who played a part in the enquiries
will give an account of what they were
told and what actions they took.
More general information about the children’s
health and development, about the previous
family history, and about the involvement
the various agencies have had with your
family, will then be shared.
Having heard all this, members of the
Conference will then discuss what risk
they feel there may be in the future to
any children involved, and whether their
name(s) should be placed on the Child
Protection Register.
Throughout the meeting you will be given
the chance to comment about what others
are saying and to give your own information
and views about events. You will also
be asked what you think should happen
in the future including any help you feel
is necessary.
