The Associate Director for Safeguarding Children (ADSC) will convene a Joint Trust (LPCT, LTHT) working party to scope the issue of children’s non attendance at health appointments within 3 months of acceptance of the Internal Health Management Report by LSCB.

The working party will report their findings and recommendations to the Safeguarding Children Health Advisory Group by December 2008.

  1. Identify a key group of staff to contribute to the working party.

  2. Agree remit of group and develop key actions.

  3. Ensure findings and recommendations available for SC:HAG December 2008.

Within six months of the publication of this Review the Chief Officer should remind CYP Social Care Team Managers of the need for Social Workers to initiate contact with appropriate mental health professionals in all relevant cases. This should be monitored and documented during supervision.
