Training Sub Group

Terms of Reference
  • To provide interagency training, which compliments the training available to the staff in single agency or professional settings.
  • To promote via training common and shared understanding for the respective roles and responsibilities of different professionals.
  • To create an ethos which values working collaboratively with other professionals and which respects diversity (including culture, race and disability), is child centred, promotes partnerships with children and families and recognises families’ strengths in responding to the needs of their children.
  • To promote via training, co-ordinated services at both strategic and individual case level, improved communications between professionals and decision-making based on information sharing, assessment, critical analysis and professional judgement.
  • To develop a Training Strategy which details the target audiences, the level of training needed to assess the learning needs of staff and the outcome of training. The Training Strategy is influenced by the Training Needs Analysis and local and national policies, procedures and practice guidelines.
  • To ensure that the training is delivered to a consistently high standard and is evaluated. The content of training programmes will be regularly reviewed and updated in the light of research and practice experience.

The core membership is based on multi-agency representation.
